Do I like my bag or not?

Ummm, so I got paid for my lame appearance on 'Rude Tube' (now? screening on E4 I think), and I treated myself to this bag:

It was on sale and I've been lusting after it for a year!! I was super psyched to get it- I've never spent so much on anything that wasn't a plane ticket.
So I got it in the sale (heavillyyyy discounted but still pretty expensive)- and since I got it, I CAN'T MAKE UP MY MIND! It's like... I do really like the bag itself, but I can NOT decide if I like or loathe the colour. I'm having serious doubt about it. The colour alternates for me between seeming pretty and subtle pink, soft and warm, to seeming like it looks like a slab of meat? It's definitely a less bright pink than the colour it looks online.

I have about 3 days to decide if I want to return it and get a return code. It's definitely the cheapest I can get a miu miu bag, and I HAVE been freaking out about how much it was, but I did get the money unexpectedly and it was on sale and I do like it...

but yeah, the colour was my super favourite colour before, and now I just can't make up my mind about how much I do or don't like it.

I mean, check my face right here! hah, I look super pissed.
But yeah, check the colour- it's just not the same colour is it? Is it?? I DON'T KNOW!!
Does it look like a giant bacon bag??

Anwyayyssss, I can't deciddeeee!!! I feel like if I decide I don't like it and it's too late to get rid of it I will be sad and resent the bag, but then again if I do return it I will never again be able to get one the same at anything less than twice as much and forever rue my stupidness of returning it!

I bet Kirsten Dunst got about 10 of them for free and doesn't even use any of them -_-

Although I'm male so bags don't really make sense, when I saw the picture of you enthusiastically holding it up, it... suited you, if that makes sense?

the color looks like high fat content ground beef. i don't know anything about color matching bags with outfits but if it was really expensive you probably would have been better off getting black or something that would match with more outfits.

keep it, it's lovely!

I'm generally against over priced things like this, think of the profit they just made from you!

I dunno about the colour, it does look a little off. If you in doubt, chuck it out.

amy said...

I think you should keep it.
Treat yourself!!
You're only talking yourself out of it because of the price. If you still hate it after the return date, there's always eBay!

Do you like it? Maybe.

Do you love it? No.

Yeah, that stare definitely says, "You're in trouble."

About keeping the bag, will they allow it as a "carry on" at the airport? And, how many of your outfits is it color coordinated with?

If you really have a problem with "letting go" you could always buy a whole bunch of new clothes to suit.

I think you could totally rock that colour. And if you've been looking at it for a year, then you probably do want it really, you're just having guilt about the spending. But like you said, it was kind of bonus money, so why not have a bonus bag?

I've been looking for a man bag for ages but there are only rubbish stores in Cardiff. Probably safest that way anyway.

Whatever with the Kirsten Dunst thing. Grey's nice, except wouldn't it be better to wear grey and then have a coloured bag (and matching shoes?), instead of the other way round?

The grey one with the Dunst looks good. I'm generally not a fan of pink but sometimes end up mixing it while I paint. must be a latent liking of the color, hah hah

im gonna be honest. it kinda looks like you went back in time and made it out of a big piece of dino meat. if it was way expensive i would get something better. or multiple better cheaper things

i like the bag! i don't think you should return it especially since it was on sale!!

Are you placing a lot of the value in the bag due to the high price and the percieved discount?

Would you still like it if there was a pile of them in the discount bin at _______(insert local version of K-Mart?

Don't worry, it looks great.

(specially with cheese and bread.)

I thought it was sort of ok 'till you mentioned bacon. And you're right, that is what it looks like. You don't love it, and for the money, you should love it. Even if it was $20, why spend that on something you don't love?

hahaha oh bryony....
It does kind of look like a big slice of ham, or a bag that you covered with pink nail polish.
I like it though. I think it goes well with you. I keep picturing you in your pokemon shirt and a little skirt with it for some reason. It works though.
Haha, I love that picture of you, and I love how ridiculously long you made this.

It seems like you aren't super crazy about it. I would say return it, wait until something you LOVE comes around, and treat yourself to it right then rather than waiting for a year like you did for this one.

see, I kinda liked that bag until you mentioned BACON!!
..just joking, I think it is a wonderfully cool bag!
:)

i thought it looked nice until u mentioned "slab of meat", then i looked at it again and saw what you meant. You should only spend that much money on something you KNOW you DEFFINATELY like/love. However, as someone before said, there is always ebay

If it didn't have that texture I don't think the colour would be too reminiscent of a slab of meat. But the colour paired with the texture..

I too have that style of mental processing when there's a niggling grain of doubt.
It could weigh round your neck like an albatross if in the end the colour is wrong. And there will always be another bag somewhere, sometime. You could get one handmade at a craft place.

Very Libra isn't it.

to be honest, i did not think 'slab of meat' when i saw it. i think its lovely. i like this bag. but i think if you're having so much doubt than it would be best to return it.

Life is a complicated business for sure but sometimes you just have to make a decision and back yourself. But if you really can't decide look to GOD for an answer and to a lesser extent Jesus as he is not so up with Handbag fashions.

Jill said...

I don't like the texture or color of the bag at all, sorry.

ZombieJesus said...

How can they make such a nice bag in such a hoorific color. It really does look like deer meat.

june carter said...

i agree with zombiejesus.
it's a really nice bag but i don't like the colour.

can't you change it for any other colour less "meatish"?

OmigoshILikeYou! said...

You are right.
it's does kind of look llike a bacon bag.
:P
But, i also understand about the whole crisis about never getting it again... etc.
but if you are doubting your decision i say return it. maybe, you'll find it again... but in a different colour?
:S like black or something?
i'm not sure.
i would be in the same situation as you. the actual bag shape and the design IS TO DIE FOR, but.. colourwise... hmm.

It seems like either way you go you're going to beat yourself up about it, so I'd just relax about the whole thing. Sooner or later you'll move on and it won't be that important anymore (no matter which way you go). In my personal opinion of the bag- it's great! Go ahead, relax and keep it.

This is a hideously awful meat bag definitely. Between the ham, bacon and the colour factor, I am very much hating this bag.

So it's a miu miu bag and you've always wanted one and you got this one on sale. You are trying to talk yourself into loving this bag that you in fact do not love, because you think you'll never get another miu miu bag.

Release this bag into the wild and another better bag will come along that doesn't fill you with such anxiety. With all the problems in the world, who needs a purse that causes this much unhappiness?
