A-S----

In a bid not to enrage the beast even more, I won't type the name of them again... but my A-S---- account seems to be gone forever! They got back to me and said 'yes, its still closed but we won't tell you why.' And then my youtube ads have all gone, my account appears to no longer be monetised. ie, I am not making any money through youtube anymore. I have emailed everyone I have contact with at youtube but obviously it's the weekend and noone has gotten back to me yet.

I guess it is because the a-s---- account has been closed, that now my youtube account is no longer linked with one. Despite there being NO reason to have closed it in the first place.

Can I link my youtube account to another a-s---- account? Will the original one get put back up? Will I get paid for the last couple of months? Who knows? Noone has answers for me.

Eh, I don't know. People keep asking me shit about the whole partner programme and I have nothing to help them in any way whatsoever.

Just... whatever youtube.
I want to break up with you, and never see you again, and throw all our pictures and love letters away.

I am very tempted to take my videos down til this is resolved somewhat. But I really doubt anything will make any difference. Google is our overlord.

I'll pay you for every time I watch your videos. It will make up for it all, baby. I owe you like 30 bucks probably.

Oh! I didn't know you could earn money in youtube?? How does that work? Are you obliged to do a certain number of videos per a certain time?
That sounds nice!! hahaha if it's how I think...

Hey, tell me something: which is the lowest temperature you have ever seen in London?

bye! ;*

Just been spending a surreal evening reading random quotes with your Last FM Radio station playing and i thought i'd take a look for any blog updates before bed and now all my peace of mind is destroyed by those total bastards - the way they are Judge & Jury and won't even tell you what you are found guilty of!!! I feel the same urge to help out a bit too.

I'm sad to hear the news. I hope you get it worked out.

I've only recently discovered your videos on YouTube and don't want to see you go, but sometimes you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

I too have recently discovered your videos on youtube and became an instant fan. It's obvious to me and many others why your work garners such attention. You set a standard not many can match and any benefits than come your way as a result are well deserved.

Youtube and places like it are changing rapidly.... better for some, worse for others. I hope you will always find a home for your art where others can enjoy it as much as you enjoy creating it.

You're an inspiration

Bri,

Again, I ask you to find a law firm that handles either Rights Law or Internet Law. Explain that, after you posted that you don't believe in God , the Ad Sense folks terminated your account. I would bet money that you could find someone to go after them and force them to either tell you why and/or restore your account!

Be Proactive and Hit them where they live! Right now you have no rights anyone is bound to respect but bring them before a Judge & you'll see how fast they will cave! Be Prepared to wait for a while once you start this as the wheels of justice grind slowly and they will make every attempt to stall you. They will Only settle when they are A.-Just about to go to court, B.-Don't want to bring it to court (because they will Lose), or C.-Are concerned about bad publicity.

Google truly is our overlord, even this blog is a Google service.

I hope you don't remove your videos from YouTube. Perhaps you've heard of the expression: "cutting off the nose to spite the face"?

If you do decide to protest, be sure to set your videos private instead of deleting them.

The whole "no we won't tell you what you did wrong" thing sucks. I hope this gets sorted out. Good luck Bryony!

I suggest trying Adbrite(adbrite.com)

It's bascially where all the people who got kicked out of Adsense go.

Perhaps they need a gentle reminder of their own Code of Conduct.

make a video perhaps ?

calmly (diplomatically) explaining "this is what happened to me... it could happen to you..." with some controlled anger under the surface :)

majorwallaby here mentioned google's code of conduct --- thats good, you could put that in there...

you would know more the politics of this in the YT world, but it's an idea. your audience should know, such a video would bring some negative attention to the google for sure, hopefully putting them on the defensive (and getting this resolved).

In the words of the youtuber inmendham, google is a marketing company. And as entrepreneurs, the people at google are most concerned about generating revenue, of which traffic for record labels and movie trailers constitute the largest share (most likely). Amateurs and enthusiasts are small cash, so they probably would boot every amateur if they could keep the masses watching videos and most importantly, "relevant, text-based ads that your viewers will actually find helpful!"

Sorry to hear about it, Paperlilies, but I have learned from you and others: I don't do business with entrepreneurs.

Wow, I would never even think of that. That'd be pathetic if it was indeed the case.

"Amateurs and enthusiasts are small cash"

uh, miss lilies hovers around top 50 subscribed of all time. so, even from this perspective, what they're doing would make no sense.

I'd start by putting an ebay and an amazon search widget on your blog. Ebay pays you half of what they make from transactions you send their way. But the real money comes when people sign up for an account because you sent them -- You make $25 each time! It adds up quickly and with your traffic you'd probably make hundreds a month from it (if not more). I'm not sure how to directly monetize your youtube page other than by putting a link to your blog next to every one of your videos. Anyway, that's a good place to start. http://affiliates.ebay.com

It seems most unlikely your AdSense account is terminated because you stated you are atheist/agnostic (someone left a comment to that effect). Do a quick search of blogger and you'll find many blogs (with adsense or the like) with similar and far more radical and extreme points of view on all matters (including atheism/agnosticism, god, religion etc) than your rather mild and naive blog concerning your views on religion etc. You would be wasting your time, money and blood, sweat & tears to turn it into a legal wrangle. And it is doubtful a quality lawyer would encourage you to do so. Also, maybe some of the other blog sites offer facilities to transfer your entire blog to them - which ones?
