More on adsense

I have gone through the appeals thing they have, and also emailed the people who I have any contact with at youtube, but so far haven't heard back (well it was only a few moments ago).

The FAQ on adsense is like 'you did something, but we aren't at liberty to say what it was.' Google is like big brother or something! I haven't even asked people to click my ads in emails or anything! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME GOOGLE??!?

I couldn't even fill out the appeals thing properly because it asks for some code which I don't know how to get. I imagine it would be n my adsense account, but I don't have access to that, obviously.

~edit~ I did find some sort of code, so I did the form again. Who knows what effect it may have. It is in the great google-overlord machine now.

Someone may have e-mailed Adsense and told them that you were asking people to click adds. Something as simple as that can get your account deleted. I've seen it happen TOO many times. Make any online enemies lately?

I hope everything works out for you in the end. That SUCKS.

That's the sad thing about Google. On the one hand, they're a really cool Web resource with lots of free software and Webware that's supposed to open up information to everyone. On the other hand, in an attempt to "customize" Web content to your preferences, they track just about everything. Check your cookies sometime for googleadservices.com -- you have to have cookies enabled in your browser to do just about anything, but unfortunately, it also allows companies to track just about anything you do online. See also cookies from hitbox.com, ad.yieldmanager.com, and coremetrics.com. Don't mean to sound paranoid, but once you're online, companies can find out just about anything about you. >:-|

They probably use a rigid, automated detection system.

I'm guessing when a human reviews your appeal they will reinstate your account.

A sudden illness strikes Paperlilies, now the Adsense catastrophe, next the plague of the first born. Better rethink that "OMG" blog entry...

Bri,

It is a Basic Tru-ism of Life that if someone Can mess with your Money-They Will! That also applies to your Head & (unfortunitly) your Heart as well.

That sucks. If google spent less time making making nicely designed topical front pages and more time answering the little folk they'd get a lot more done!
